Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival — Negombo

    Airport welcome and an easy first evening.

  2. Days 2–3

    Anuradhapura

    Explore the ancient sacred city by bicycle or tuk-tuk in the cooler hours, with time to rest in between.

  3. Days 4–5

    Sigiriya countryside

    Stay in a quiet village lodge. Visit Sigiriya and Dambulla, share a cooking class with a local family and cycle through paddy fields.

  4. Days 6–7

    Kandy

    The Temple of the Tooth, the botanic gardens and a walk with a local guide through the old town and its markets.

  5. Days 8–9

    Tea country

    Two nights in a colonial tea bungalow. Walk through the estates with a tea planter and enjoy afternoon tea on the veranda.

  6. Day 10

    Train to Ella

    The scenic train through the hills, then a slow afternoon in Ella.

  7. Days 11–13

    Tangalle

    Three nights on a quiet stretch of the south coast. Beach time, a visit to Mulkirigala rock temple and an optional Ayurveda treatment.

  8. Day 14

    Galle

    Stroll through the lanes of Galle Fort, with its cafés, boutiques and Dutch-era architecture.

  9. Day 15

    Departure

    Transfer to the airport.
