One week

Sri Lanka looks small on the map, but travel is slower than many expect — roads wind through hills and villages. With seven days, we usually recommend focusing on two regions, such as the Cultural Triangle and Kandy, or the hill country and the south coast.

Sri Lanka in 10 days

Ten days covers the classic highlights at a comfortable pace: Sigiriya, Kandy, the train to Ella, a safari and a short beach stay.

Sri Lanka in 2 weeks

Two weeks is ideal. You can add longer stays, more beach time, a second national park or a region off the main route, such as the north or the east coast.

Three weeks or more

Perfect for slow travel: combine both coasts in the right season, add Jaffna and the islands, or include a wellness retreat.
